Despite popular beliefs to the contrary, the single greatest barrier to business success is the one erected by culture. Edward T. Hall
In today’s diverse and globalized world, it is becoming more important to understand how to communicate with others from different cultures and countries.
Intercultural communication (or cross-cultural communication) is a discipline that studies communication across different cultures and social groups, or how culture affects communication. Intercultural and cross-cultural training gives employees an opportunity to examine the cultural differences between nations, to bring awareness to these differences, to help smooth business challenges, and to improve communication.
Culture is much more than just language and food, it’s an array of different value systems, beliefs and behaviour, and we must understand all of these pieces in order to effectively communicate with others who are different from us.
Whether you are going to live or study abroad, or you are a leader promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace, to trying to close a successful international business merger, I can help you navigate those differences crucial for global business success.
